BROWNIES FOR THE LADIES IN THE SOUP KITCHEN ENJOY DAN

CHOCOLATE BROWNIES FOR THE LADIES IN THE SOUP KITCHEN

Serves 16

INGREDIENTS:
1/4-cup butter, plus more for the baking pan.
1/2- semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1/3-cup unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1-1/3-cup sugar
2 eggs, plus I egg white.
1-1/2-teaspoon vanilla
1/2-cup cocoa powder
3/4-teaspoon baking powder
1/2-teaspoon kosher salt
1/4-cup walnuts chopped

DIRECTIONS:       (PRE-HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES)

1.   Grease butter on 9-x-13 baking pan and lined with parchment paper.
2.   Leaving 2-inch overhang on all sides.
3.   In a microwave bowl, combine butter, and chocolates.
4.   Microwave in 30 seconds increments, stirring each time until melted and smooth about 2 minutes.
5.   Whisk in sugar, eggs, egg white and vanilla until smooth.
6.   In a bowl whisk together cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
7.   Stir into chocolate mixture until just combined.
8.   Pour batter into the pan, smooth top and add walnuts.
9.   Bake for about 30 minutes.
10.                Cool completely.
11.                Using parchment paper, lift brownies from pan and cut into 16 squares.
