MY SISTER HAS A LEMON TREE IN ARIZONA ENJOY DAN;


DEADY’S LEMON TREE LIMONCELLO by CHEF DAN:
Makes 1-1/2-quarts
INGREDIENTS:
Zest of 15 lemons
1 liter vodka, 100 proof would be ok
3- cups sugar
4-cups water
DIRECTIONS:
1.  Use a vegetable peeler to zest the lemons.
2.  Omit any of the white pith, makes lemoncello bitter.
3.  Place zest in a large glass bottle.
4.  Pour in vodka.
5.  Cover loosely and let infuse for 1 week at room temperature.
6.  1 week later, combine sugar and water in a sauce pan.
7.  Heat and bring to a boil.
8.  Do not stir.
9.  Boil for 12-15 minutes.
10.              Remove from heat and let cool.
11.              Stir vodka mixture into syrup.
12.              Strain into glass bottles.
13.              Seal each bottle with a cork.
14.              Let mixture age for 2 weeks at room temperature.
15.              Place a bottle In the freezer.
16.              Serve chilled vodka glassed.
