CHINESE
NEW YEA WITH GARLIC STEAK AND ASIAN NOODLES by CHEF DAN:
Serves
2
INGREDIENTS:
1/2-pound
skirt or strip steak
3
tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon
sriracha
1
tablespoon brown sugar
3 garlic
cloves, minced
1
tablespoon sesame oil
2
tablespoon dry roasted peanuts.
DIRECTIONS:
1.
Remove
visible fat from the steak and cut into 1-inch stripes.
2.
Mix
soy sauce, and next 4 ingredients.
3.
Add
to Zip Lok bag and place meat in the bag and marinate for 2 hours.
4.
Add
oil to a wok over high heat and when sizzling.
5.
Remove
steak from marinate, reserving marinate.
6.
Add
steak to the wok and sauté 1-2 minutes.
7.
Remove
to a plate.
8.
Add
reserved marinate to the wok.
9.
Boil
1 minutes.
10. Spoon over meat and top with
peanuts
ASIAN
NOODLES:
1/4-pound
Chinese wheat noodles
1/4-pound
fresh snow peas, trimmed
1
tablespoon sesame oil
3 scallions,
bias-sliced into ½-inch lengths
Kosher
salt and freshly ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS:
1.
Bring
saucepan filed with water to a boil.
2.
Ad
noodles and snow peas.
3.
Bring
back to a boil and cook 1 minute.
4.
Drain.
5.
Place
in a bowl add sesame oil and top with scallions.
6.
Toss
well and serve with the steak.
