EISAKU ITAYA BLACKBERRY CRISP ENJOY DAN:

                   JOE ITAYA’S BLACKBERRY CRISP by CHEF DAN:
Serves 6            (FROM DRIFTWOOD DRIVE)

INGREDIENTS:
6 cups blackberries
6 tablespoon sugar
3 teaspoon cornstarch
4 teaspoon water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1-1/2-cups quick cocking oats
3/4-cup brown sugar
3/4-cup all-purpose flour
1-1/2-teaspoons cinnamon
6 tablespoons cold butter

DIRECTIONS: (PREHEAT OVEN TO 375 F)
1.   Place blackberries in a greased 1-quart baking dish.
2.   In a bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice stir until smooth.
3.   Pour over berries.
4.   Combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon; cut butter until crumbly.
5.   Sprinkle over berries.
6.   Bake, uncovered, in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
7.   Serves with warm with ice cream.
