STUFFED BELL PEPPERS WITH TURKEY MEAT THAT'S WHAT IS WHAT IS FOR DINNER TONIGHT ENJOY DAN:


STUFFED BELL PEPPERS WITH GROUND WHITE TURKEY MEAT

Serves 4

 

INGREDIENTS:

 

1 lb ground white turkey meat

3-5 bell peppers

5 cups boiling water

1 onion, chopped

6 mushrooms, finely chopped

1 (8 Oz) can tomato sauce

1/2-cup sharp cheddar cheese, plus 4 tablespoons

1 (5 Oz) can water chestnuts, sliced

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2-cup Pace Picante sauce

1 cup Uncle Ben’s instant brown rice or couscous

 

DIRECTIONS:          (HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES)

 

1.  Core peppers, removing the seeds and membranes.

2.  Cook the peppers in salted boiling water for 5 minutes.

3.  In a skillet over medium-high heat, add meat and cook until nice and browned.

4.  Add the remaining ingredients, and cook for 10 minutes.

5.  Stuff the cooked ingredients into the bell peppers until overflowing.

6.  Place stuffed peppers, cut side up in a greased casserole dish.

7.  Cover with aluminum foil and bake in pre-heated oven for 15-17 minutes.

8.  Add 4 tablespoons cheese and bake uncovered for 5 minutes.
