BEEF
BANDERA AUDIE MURPHY MOST DECORATED SOLDIER OF WORLD WAR II: by
CHEF DAN:
(From the 1951 Cowboy Cookbook by Ken Beck
& Jim Clark)
(How
this recipe is remembered)
I
remember the ingredients but not the amounts.
He
melted butter in a frying pan, and then browned some onions.
He
then cut some beef into 1/4- to 1/2-inch stripes and browned them in another frying
pan.
When
the onions were browned, he add a can of cream of mushrooms soup, some brown
sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and let it simmer for 3 minutes.
Then
he put the beef strips in the pan with the mushroom mixture and let it cook on
low for about 10 minutes.
It
really tasted good so you might want to give it a try.
ENJOY
