JOHN WAYNE COWBOY CASSEROLE IN THE CROCK-POT ENJOY DAN:

JOHN WAYNE COWBOY CASSEROLE IN THE CROCK POT by CHEF DAN:
Serves 6

INGREDIENTS:
1 (32 Oz) bag tater tots (not thawed)
1 pound gerund beef
1 onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 (1.5 Oz) package taco mix
3/4-cup water or whatever the taco package says
1 cup sour cream
1 (8 Oz) package sharp cheddar cheese, (divided, 1/2- in sour cream mixture and 1/2- on top at the end
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/2-teasPoon EACH garlic powder and onion powder
2 roma tomatoes, diced for serving

DIRECTIONS:
1.   Spray a crock-pot with Pam.
2.   Add the tater tots in a single layer, set aside.
3.   In a skillet, over medium-heat, brown the hamburger, onion, and bell pepper.
4.   Add the amount of water the taco packet says to add to the meat.
5.   Add the taco packet, and continue cooking and stirring until the meat and the seasoning has thickened.
6.   Pour the meat mixture over the tater tots in the crock-pot.
7.   In a bowl add sour cream, S. &.P. garlic and onion powder and 1/2-the cheese.
8.   Spread the sour cream mixture over the meat mixture in the crock-pot.
9.   Cover and cook on Low for 4.5-hours.
10.                After cooking time is up add remaining cheese evenly over the casserole.
11.                Cover and let cheese melt, about 5-10 minutes.
12.                Serve with fresh diced tomatoes.
