TOFU WITH SPICY GARLIC SAUCE by

Serves

INGREDIENTS:
1
(14 Oz) package soft tofu
2
garlic cloves, chipped
3
scallions cut on the bias in 1/2-inch slices
2
tablespoons roasted poppy seeds
2
tablespoon roasted sesame seeds
3
tablespoon soy sauce
1
tablespoon sesame oil
1
teaspoon EACH red pepper flakes and Garam Masala
1/2-teaspoon
brown sugar
DIRECTIONS:
1.
Rinse
tofu, and then cover with cold water in as sauce pan.
2.
Bring
to a simmer over medium-high heat.
3.
Then
keep warm, covered, over very low heat.
4.
With
mortar and pestle crush garlic to a paste with a pinch of salt.
5.
Stir
together with remaining ingredients (except tofu).
6.
Just
before serving, lift tofu from saucepan with a large spatula and drain on paper
towels.
7.
Gently
pat dry.
8.
Transfer
to as platter.
9.
Spoon
sauce over tofu and serve warm.
10.
Set
reaming sauce on the side.
