KOREAN BARBECUED BEEF BULGOGI ENJOY DAN:

                     KOREAN BARBECUED BEEF BULGOGI by CHEF DAN:
Serves 4     (traditionally bul go ki made very thin sliced of beef)

INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds beef loin steaks, or flank steak, thin sliced for grilling
3 scallions, bias cut into 1/2-inch lengths
4 crimini mushrooms, sliced
1/4-cup sauce sauce
1/4-cup sugar
1/4-cup water
2 tablespoon sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4-teaspoon EACH red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 onion, grind in a food processor
Top with 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

DIRECTIONS:
1.   Place steak in a shallow dish.
2.   Combine all ingredients in a bowl except seeds and mix thoroughly.
3.   Pour over beef and marinate at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
4.   Pre-heat a barbeque grill over high-heat.
5.   Lightly oil all the grates.
6.   Quickly grill beef on hot grill until slightly charred and cooked through.
7.   About 1-2 minutes per side.
8.   Top with sesame seeds and serve with rice.

IDEA:
Roll up in red leaf lettuce with rice and hot pepper paste for a real Korean-style treat.
